Scotland 2015

We have done a lot of activities about Saint Andrew´s Day at Scotland.

St. Andrew's Day is the feast day of Saint Andrew. It is celebrated on the 30th of November.

In Scotland, and many countries with Scottish connections, St Andrew's Day is marked with a celebration of Scottish culture with traditional Scottish food, music and dance. In Scotland the day is also seen as the start of a season of Scottish winter festivals encompassing St Andrew's Day, Hogmanay and Burns Night.^[8] In Edinburgh, there is a week of celebrations, concentrating on musical entertainment and traditional ceilidh dancing. A ceilidh is a social event with couples dancing in circles or sets (groups of six or eight people). In Glasgow city centre, a large shindig, or party, with traditional music and a ceilidh are held. In Dumfries, songs are performed in the Burn's night tradition.

SYA SPAIN

Hemos iniciado una nueva experiencia en relación con la expresión y comunicación en inglés con el objetivo de seguir favoreciendo la competencia lingüística.
Cuatro chicos de EE.UU han empezado a participar en distintas actividades en Infantil y Primaria. Son alumnos del programa School Year Abroad (SYA) que cursan estudios durante este año en Zaragoza y ofrecen parte de su tiempo para interactuar con nuestros alumnos en lengua inglesa. Las actividades que se irán realizando están planteadas y coordinadas desde el centro junto con una profesora del programa.

Algunas actividades que se van a realizar son:

Refuerzo de vocabulario y unidades trabajadas
Actividades dirigidas en el aula
Actividades, festividades típicas de EE.UU

Queremos destacar su colaboración, iniciativa y ganas de aprender y por supuesto la gran oportunidad para nuestros alumnos que podrán beneficiarse de las actividades con nativos americanos y valorar la importancia del aspecto comunicativo del idioma y todo ello desde edades tempranas.

Thanksgiving day 2015

We have celebrated during November: Thanksgiving!!!!!!! We are thankful for a lot of things!!! We have given thanks in our thankful tree  and we have done more activities about Thanksgiving day.

What is Thanksgiving Day?
Thanksgiving Day is a day set aside each year where people in the United States and Canada give thanks to God for all the blessings they received during the year by feasting and prayer.


Thanksgiving Dinner
Traditional thanksgiving dinners those days usually includes turkeys cranberries, fish, dried fruit, clams, venison, plums and lobsters. Modern times thanksgiving dinners include the pumpkin pie.

Rafael Zabaleta

He was born in Quesada (Jaén) in 1907. In 1925, he travelled to Madrid to study at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts. Two years later, he was named delegate of the National Artistic Treasury. After the Spanish Civil War, charges were brought against him and he spent a brief period at a jail in Jaén. During this period, a series of drawings begun three years earlier on the conflict were seized. Starting from 1940, he began a new stage of his life and painting, more original and less influenced by academic painting. Country and mountain themes are abundantly prominent. During his travels to Paris, Zabaleta met Picasso and other relevant Spanish painters of the time. In 1960, he exhibited a series of 16 oil paintings and ten drawings at the Spanish pavilion in the Venice Biennale, his most important exhibition. He died in 1960.
